The state-of-the-art facility, powered by Arnson Innovate’s AITK Robotics Initiative, has been described by education authorities as “the most equipped privately owned STEM center at the basic school level in the region.”
The inauguration drew a distinguished audience, including the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene (represented by Mr. Francis Kofi Amoah, Director of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council), the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah, Hon Ralph Adusei Poku, the Member of Parliament for Bekwai, representative of the Municipal Chief Executive, traditional leaders (Nananom), school heads, parents, students, and members of the media.

In his keynote address, Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah, the Regional Director of Education, expressed his admiration for the innovation and foresight demonstrated by both Amazing Grace Academy and Arnson Innovate.
He described the establishment of the STEAM and Robotics Centre as “a monumental step forward in nurturing innovation and excellence within Ghana’s education system.”
“STEM education equips students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills essential for shaping the future,” The director stated. “This facility will serve as a platform for students to explore, create, and innovate in ways that reflect the realities of the 21st century.”
He further emphasized that this is the era of Artificial Intelligence, ICT, and Robotics, and commended Arnson Innovate for taking deliberate action to integrate technology into the learning process at the basic school level.
“The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate is proud of this initiative and ready to collaborate with the centre to ensure that STEAM education is rigorously pursued by all schools within the catchment area,” he added.
Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah also acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Emmanuel Frimpong, the Proprietor of Amazing Grace Academy, applauding his leadership and determination to provide his students with access to high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities.
Before concluding, the Regional Director extended heartfelt appreciation to Arnson Innovate for what he called “a thoughtful and transformative gift to the people of Poano and the entire Ashanti Region.” He encouraged parents, community leaders, and stakeholders to support the sustainability of the center, emphasizing that “education is a shared responsibility that demands collaboration from all.”

Representing the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Francis Kofi Amoah, delivered a message on behalf of Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, reaffirming the government’s commitment to advancing STEM and STEAM education as a cornerstone of national development.
In his address, Dr. Amoakohene commended Arnson Innovate for aligning its vision with the government’s education priorities and the President’s broader agenda of industrialization and innovation-led growth.
“The establishment of this Student Innovation Center is not just a technological achievement—it represents a mindset transformation,” the statement read. “It is an investment in a generation of young Ghanaians who can think critically, design solutions, and compete globally in an age defined by technology.”
He described the initiative as “a reflection of Ghana’s Education 4.0 vision—a system that moves beyond theory to embrace creativity, adaptability, and digital readiness.”
The Minister’s speech further praised the collaboration between Arnson Innovate, the Ghana Education Service, and private educational institutions, calling it “a perfect example of how partnerships can transform communities and bridge the education quality gap.”
“Arnson Innovate’s work perfectly aligns with the government’s STEM vision. It embodies our goal of building a Ghana where innovation begins in our classrooms and transforms into industries, inventions, and livelihoods,” Dr. Amoakohene stated.
He concluded with a forward-looking challenge:
“Today, we inaugurate this centre; but when we return, we will celebrate—not just this facility, but the knowledge, competence, and creativity of these students who will soon lead Ghana into the future.”
Arnson Innovate’s AITK Robotics Initiative has been transforming STEM education in Ghana since 2022, focusing on hands-on learning, teacher capacity building, and digital transformation in schools.
Through its Student Innovation Centers, the organization integrates robotics, coding, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), drones, and virtual reality (VR) into basic and junior high school curricula.
At the Amazing Grace Centre, students now have access to:

During the ceremony, Elvis Gyau Boahen, a lead technical facilitator at Arnson Innovate, explained how simulation and VR tools are replacing flat, chalkboard drawings of 3D concepts, allowing students to visualize and interact with lessons in real time.
He highlighted that the AITK model helps increase useful learning hours, reduce teacher inefficiency, and build market-relevant skills among students.
Board Member Pastor Ezekiel Osei-Bonsu, who also serves as Regional HR Manager for GES (Bono East), praised the center as a “bridge between knowledge and innovation,” adding that AITK Robotics transforms students from “consumers of knowledge into creators of solutions.”
Joining the ceremony virtually, Mr. Arnold Johnson, Co-Founder and CEO of Arnson Innovate, spoke passionately about the company’s commitment to scaling equitable access to quality STEM education.
He announced plans to expand the AITK Student Innovation Centers to 10 schools across Ghana, impacting 10,000 students and 100 teachers within the next phase.
Mr. Johnson also revealed Arnson Innovate’s Community Give-Back Model, in which 3% of annual revenue will fund Free Mobile STEM Education Units to deliver robotics and digital literacy programs to deprived rural communities.
“The AITK Student Innovation Center is more than a STEM lab—it is a promise,” he said. “A promise that every child, regardless of background, deserves the chance to explore, create, and dream with technology.”
He also highlighted plans to use drone technology for community mapping and emergency response, and to host remote lectures through the center’s embedded conference structure, connecting local learners with facilitators across the world.
In his remarks, Mr. Emmanuel Frimpong, Proprietor of Amazing Grace Academy, expressed profound gratitude to Arnson Innovate and the Ghana Education Service for their collaboration. He urged government and stakeholders not to view all private schools as profit-driven, but to recognize the contribution of community-focused institutions that serve underprivileged areas.
“This innovation centre is not just for Amazing Grace—it is for the entire community,” he said. “We have built a place where students can think, create, and solve problems. We call on all stakeholders to help us sustain this dream.”
He also appealed for infrastructure support to expand the center’s facilities and improve accessibility for larger workshops and community outreach programs.
The inauguration of the Amazing Grace Student Innovation Centre marks a significant milestone in the Ashanti Region’s education landscape. It represents a unified vision shared by Arnson Innovate, the Ghana Education Service, and the Government of Ghana—to build a future where every child can thrive through technology, creativity, and opportunity.
As the ceremony concluded, both the Regional Director and the Minister’s representative reaffirmed their readiness to support the initiative, describing it as “a beacon of what Ghana’s education system can achieve when innovation meets purpose.”
Arnson Innovate’s impact continues to grow—turning ordinary classrooms into innovation labs of imagination, and preparing a new generation of Ghanaian students to lead in science, technology, and innovation across the continent.
“Together,” Dr. Amoakohene’s message concluded, “we are shaping the Ghana we dream of—one child, one classroom, and one innovation at a time.”
